D.A.D. CIVIL RIGHTS BATTLE FEATURED IN LA TIMES – Dad Program

CLIFTON, N.J. (January 4, 2012) – Celebrated drum virtuoso / Founder of the non-profit organization D.A.D (Drums and Disabilities) Pat Gesualdo, was featured in the LA Times, for his role as lead advocate to help Cooper Veloudis, a little boy in Kentucky with special needs.
In what has ignited a huge international outcry, PatGesualdo has been asked by local Senators and family members in Kentucky to help them represent a 9 year old boy with Cerebral Palsy. The child’s neighborhood Home Owners Association are demanding they remove the playhouse and his necessary therapy equipment from his backyard, which was prescribed by his therapist.
Kentucky State Legislators Richard Henderson (D-Jeffersonville) and Keith Hall (D-Phelps) Gesualdo to help them write new Legislation for House Bill 160. State Representative Henderson, Hall, and Gesualdo, held a news conference in the Kentucky State Capitol to announce the law making campaign. In addition, the group announced that D.A.D. has filed a Civil Rights violation with the United States Department of Justice.
“Mr. Gesualdo and his D.A.D. Organization will direct the National campaign for this Legislation,” said Kentucky State Legislator Richard Henderson (D-Jeffersonville). “I wrote several key provisions in this law” said D.A.D. President/CEO Pat Gesualdo. “As a result, the D.A.D. Program is the perfect outlet to help enact this vital Legislation on a National basis. This issue started because a special needs little boy and his family were being threatened, harassed, and discriminated against by their neighborhood Home Owners Association. This is a major violation of this little boy’s civil rights. I will pursue this vigorously in an effort to protect this little boy’s civil rights, and for the protection of all disabled children throughout the world,” Gesualdo said in the International news conference.
Gesualdo has been asked by Senators and Congressman throughout the United States to assist them in writing laws to help protect the rights of disabled children and their parents from neighborhood Home Owners Associations, as well. State and Federal lawmakers through the country consider Gesualdo’s advocacy as Groundbreaking legal protection for disabled children throughout the United States.

STONE PONY TO HOLD D.A.D. BENEFIT CONCERT – Dad Program

CLIFTON, NJ (August 7, 2008) – The Legendary Stone Pony Nightclub will hold a benefit concert for the celebrated non-profit organization D.A.D. (Drums and Disabilities), on August 30, 2008, 7:00PM. All proceeds go to helping children fight Autism in schools and communities throughout New Jersey. Ticket Prices are $10.00. Top New Jersey Bands will be performing at the event, including Keith Kenny, Almost There, Smokin’ Aces, Lunar Electric, and the Amber Blues Band.
The benefit concert is sponsored by Pepsi-Cola, Frank’s Pontiac-GMC, The Meadowlands Regional Chamber of Commerce, and Zildjian Cymbals. All donations are 100% tax deductible, and will be used for implementing special needs programs for autistic children in schools and communities throughout New Jersey.
