CLIFTON, NJ (OCTOBER 18, 2009) The New Jersey Nets have teamed up with the non-profit organization D.A.D. (Drums and Disabilities), in an effort to help children in NJ fight Autism. The event recently took place at the Meadowlands IZOD Arena, in East Rutherford, New Jersey, and featured 200 special needs children from the Bergen County school system. Sponsors of the event were Zildjian Cymbals, and Liquid Lightning Energy Drink”
It is wonderful to have the New Jersey Nets join with Pat Gesualdo and his D.A.D. Program, in an effort to help children fight Autism,” says Liz Hall of the New Jersey Nets.

President/CEO Pat Gesualdo. “We are doing what we can to bring awareness to this cause, and by working together, we can help these children have a brighter future.”

On September 24, 2009, Mikhail Prokhorov, Russia’s richest man according to Forbes magazine, confirmed his intention to become majority owner of the New Jersey Nets. Mr. Prokhorov sent an offer to the team owners requesting that the control shareholding of the basketball club be sold to his company, Onexim, for a symbolic price. In return, Prokhorov would fund a loan for the construction of a $700 million arena in Brooklyn and attract additional funds from Western banks.

Drums and Disabilities (D.A.D.),is a 501 (C) (3) non-profit research program. Psychologists, neuroscientists, law enforcement agencies, special needs therapists, child protective service agencies, and teachers in over 15 countries use the D.A.D. Program to help special needs children develop physical and cognitive functioning.
