Pat Gesualdo

Celebrated Dum Virtuoso/Author/Clinician Pat Gesualdo introduced the world to his pioneering techniques of the “Healing Art of Drum Therapy,” when New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and his Administration, and the New Jersey Department of Education Commissioner, helped him launch his non-profit organization D.A.D. (Drums and Disabilities), in 2004 in the New York / New Jersey communities. Shortly thereafter, The WWE the New York Football Giants joined forces with Pat to promote D.A.D. at Wrestle Mania and RAW. WWE Champion Booker T, Trish Stratus, NY Giants Team members, and New York City School Officials also took part in the event.

Pat has performed and/or recorded with Geoff Tate, Grammy Award winning Producer/Engineer Neil Kernon (Elton John, Queen, Yes)Steve Vai, Bob Daisley, Tony Mac Alpine, Derek Sherinian, Bjorn Englen, Michael Romeo, Joe Satriani, Chris Poland, and members of Rainbow, Twisted Sister, and Winger. He has also performed / recorded for various Columbia, Sony, Atlantic, RCA, and Paramount Pictures artists and special projects.

Pat also records with the Metal Hall of Fame All Stars, a charity benefit recording and a soon to be tour that helps bring free D.A.D. curriculums to special needs children, adults, and wounded veterans. Pat was also featured in a public service announcement video series with Ray Charles, Lars Ulrich of Metallica, and Todd Rundgren, which aired in rotation on MTV, VH-1, ESPN, and other major television networks. He also took part in a drum battle event featuring drummers Liberty Devitto (Billy Joel), Rod Morgenstein (Winger, Dixie Dregs) and A.J. Pero (Twisted Sister).

Pat was invited to the White House to meet President George W. Bush, in an effort to help bring his Drum Therapy® program to wounded troops throughout the United States. Under President Barack Obama, The U.S. State Department brought Pat and D.A.D.to the Middle East region of the world to help disabled Israeli and Palestinian children. He also represented the United States for the International Disability Festival in Europe.

The United States Pentagon has called on Pat to train and certify U.S. Military health professionals in his pioneering Drum Therapy® techniques, so they can help troops throughout the world fight physical and mental health issues. He had an exclusive Drum Therapy column in Modern Drummer magazine, and was nominated to Who’s Who In America, and a voting member for the Grammy Awards. Pat is the author of the groundbreaking book/CD “Drum Therapy, Healing With the Drumset.” (Alfred Music Publishing). ). It is the leading publication to help drum teachers, special education teachers, and special needs therapists teach the special needs population. Pat has won various awards, and performs in clinic and lecture tours throughout the world. He is an artist/clinician for Pro-Mark Drumsticks, ProLogix drumpads, Zildjian Cymbals, and Evans Drumheads.
